Fish Fry Beer Batter Mix

Combine this packet of batter and one 12-ounce can of beer … pat your filets dry; dip them in the batter, then straight to your hot oil. The result is the TASTIEST fish fry you have ever had. Now, elbow your way to the front of the line. You caught them, you cooked them, make sure you get your fair share.

Portion sized, no measuring, enough for 3 to 4 pounds of fresh or salt water filets.

Iron skillet fish fry beer batter is the best-flavored and easiest to use fish batter anywhere.  It is ideal for fishing trips.   At home, you can entertain and impress your family and friends with a tasty fish fry party.

Directions:
pour about one inch of cooking oil in large, heavy skillet. Heat over campfire, barbecue or stove.  A deep fryer may also be used.  375 degrees is ideal. Prepare your fillets and cut them into handy size pieces.  Be sure to defrost filets if frozen.  Pat filets dry with paper towel. Pour iron skillet fish fry batter and one 12 ounce can of beer into large bowl and mix thoroughly. Dip dried fillets into batter.   Coat evenly, and immediately drop in hot oil.  (take caution to avoid burning yourself with the hot oil.) Turn once, using tongs.  Cook till golden brown.          Do not overcook. 
Using tongs, remove filets from oil and place on paper towel.  Cover with additional paper towels to keep warm while cooking more fish.

Serve with hot sauce, tarter sauce, bbq sauce or plain.
